The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting 3-5 grade beneficiaries¡¯ preferences for utilization of facility care in long-term care insurance. Among the 70,122 persons who were certified to 1-5 grade of Long-term Care Insurance for the first time in January-June 2015, 58,071 in the 3-5 grade were selected. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, and multiple logistic regression using SPSS 23.0 version. Among the 3-5 grade beneficiaries¡¯ of LTC Insurance, 20.3% of them prefer to utilize facility care. The significant affecting factors for their preference of facility care were gender, age, the status of social security, the number of inappropriate items in living condition, subjective hearing ability, ADL, dementia or stroke episode, grading of LTC Insurance, and current living place in overall. However, those affecting factors for their preference of facility care showed the differences in their current living place. The insurer should prepare the policies for increasing the accessability of medical home care for them or should reimburse the expenditure for remodeling their living condition in order to prevent admission of long-term care facilities and to pursuit aging in place.
